It takes a team of talented experienced professionals to produce even a simple
one camera live internet broadcast. A typical crew involves camera operators, a
technical or IT person, a director, and an audio technician. On a large broadcast
with video roll-ins or a laptop with slides an additional person is needed. On
a smaller broadcast two technicians may perform multiple roles to produce the
broadcast. In some cases the client or venue provides the sound technician and
computer IT specialist. Depending on the requirements and available staff at the
venue the video team may take a sound feed from the house sound technician. It
is possible but rare that the house sound would take a feed from the
microphone supplied by Jumpstart Video. It is important to understand that the
technical staff responsible for the house sound, projectors, laptops, and
staging is separate from the video production staff responsible for making
the live broadcast happen. The most important thing is for all the roles in
crew positions to be established well before the event and to have the right
people in place for each task.
